Press release Schelling Anlagenbau & AW Bearbeitungssysteme GmbH (AWB)

Takeover of saw manufacturer Panhans provides new impulse

AWB and Schelling will realise synergies and consolidate the location of this tradition-rich brand.

Panhans Maschinenbau GmbH from Micheldorf in Upper Austria is a hallmark for solid panel saws for craft producers. This brand will now become a part of our highly efficient network. The new owners, AWB and Schelling, will open up additional potential for sales and technology. A combination which will benefit both the firm's existing site and its customers.

AW Bearbeitungssysteme GmbH (AWB) and Schelling Anlagenbau GmbH, both of which are based in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, have a harmonious relationship. Both are involved in the panel cutting saw sector; AWB dedicates itself to sales, project planning and service, Schelling to development and production. With the takeover of Panhans, they are now putting their heads together and making full use of their shared expertise. The result is the new company AWB Maschinenfabrik GmbH, which will produce their
tried-and-tested saws at the Micheldorf site under the best positioned brand name (Panhans).
“Panhans machines, with their orientation towards the craft industry, are the ideal complement to the Schelling portfolio. AWB, on the other hand, will be able to open up new markets for Panhans”, comments AWB's CEO Wilfried Amann about the starting conditions.

Another factor is that Micheldorf will be strengthened by the sales and service infrastructure in Vorarlberg, while also being built up itself as a sales, service and training centre for Schelling's range of products. Micheldorf, with its central location in Austria, fulfils the requirements for this role perfectly.

Synergies will be realised for the new owners in purchasing, sales and the development of new machines, thus generating positive economic effects on all sides. Panhans will be even more clearly positioned, and will in future be known for offering complete solutions and stationary products for craft producers and for industry, specifically for firms processing wood, plastic or special materials. Sales will be expanded into international markets, with the focus on potential opportunities in eastern and southern Europe.
